Finale OP (from RandomC)Current Song: “Hormiga Brava” by Calle 13

No I’m not dead, I’m actually doing pretty good; I just haven’t had anything to post about for the past couple of weeks. The only note-worthy thing is that ZipTorrent is EVAL and that CODE GEASS was licensed (woo hoo! can’t wait to buy those DVDs!)

Hot off the presses! Newtype’s August issue announced that a second season of Haruhi is going to be made. The official announcement will be made this July 7th on Haruhi’s official website. July 7th, huh? Better look into that date. Isn’t something special happening the 7th? ;-) Some scans from Newtype’s august issue after the jump.

5cm per second (from ANN)Current song: “La Cumbia De Los Aburridos” by Calle 13

ADV Films (one of the couple “big” US anime licensing companies) has been announcing a couple of licenses that I am very interested in seeing how they will sell. This one is no different. Byousoku Go Centimeter ~a chain of short stories about their distance~ (AKA 5 Centimers per second) is Makoto Shinkai’s (director of Hoshi no Koe/Voices of a Distant Star and The Place Promised in Our Early Days) latest movie and ADV plans on releasing it to theaters sometime before releasing the DVD on December of this year. If the movie is going to be shown in any theater close to me, I’m definitely going to see it, just to show my support.

According to ANN, ICv2 updated their article saying that the original news source is not them, but is in fact the current issue of Anime Insider, which has five pages of coverage of the movie and its director Shinkai-sensei.

Ghost in the Shell STAND ALONE COMPLEX Solid State Society to air on the Sci-Fi channel!

GitS SAC SSSCurrent song: “Kouga Ninpou Chou” by Onmyouza

Yes guys and girls, you read the title right. The sequel movie to Ghost in the Shell STAND ALONE COMPLEX 2nd GIG is going to be aired in the US. For those of you who don’t know what Ghost in the Shell is, don’t watch this movie. This movie is a sequel to TWO Ghost in the Shell STAND ALONE COMPLEX TV seasons, so if you watch this, you probably won’t know what the hell is going on.

But for those of you who are cool and have seen the GitS SAC TV seasons, be sure to tune in to the Sci-Fi channel this Monday night at 11PM EST to watch this movie. Also, if you by want to see the movie and by any chance miss it, the DVD will be coming out July 3, 2007 here in the US. BTW, this is not the last anime to be made in the STAND ALONE COMPLEX universe, so expect another movie or TV series soon. :-D

P.S: Just finished watching Basilisk ~Kouga Ninpou Chou~. Not as good an ending as I was hoping, but still pretty good. I recommend it to any one who’s into samurai stories from Japan’s Edo period (AKA anyone who likes Rurouni Kenshin)

Basilisk ~Kouga Ninpou Chou~

Friday, June 8th, 2007

Basilisk ~Kouga Ninpou Chou~Hey guys, sorry for not posting about anything yesterday. I’ve been feeling lazy these past couple of days and about two days ago I started watching the GONZO anime Basilisk and I’m really getting into it. Last night after I got home from work I was super tired so I just laid back on my bed and watched about 8-9 episodes of Basilisk episodes in a row. This show is really cool so far, hopefully they won’t mess it up at the end.

So yeah…right now I am at work so I can’t really make a full-length post about anything so expect today’s daily post later on tonight.

Gundam 00 Coming in October ‘07!!

Gundam 00 Logo (thumbnail)Current Song: “DAYS” by FLOW

So I guess by now you’ve all heard the news, but I’m going to talk about it anyways. After Sunday’s episode of “Terra e…” (Toward the Terra”), a remake of an old sci-fi anime, there was a teaser aired of the new Gundam anime that’s going to be replacing Terra e… when it ends in October. The name of this new Gundam series will be Gundam 00 (pronounced “Gundam Double O”) and it will take place, interestingly enough, in our time line (meaning it will be using the Gregorian Calendar instead of the regular Universal Century calendar used in most old Gundam anime or other Alternate Universe calendars like the Cosmic Era calendar used in Gundam SEED or the After Colony calendar used in Gundam Wing) in the year 2307 AD. The director will be Mizushima Seiji (who directed Fullmetal Alchemist). Here’s to hoping it won’t suck as much as Gundam SEED DESTINY did.

Here’s a link to the .torrent file for the translated version of the teaser.

P.S: If you don’t know what to do with that .torrent file I just linked to (AKA you don’t know how to use BitTorrent), please drop me a line and I will be happy to help you with that.
